How is Cognitive Hypnotherapy different?

In Cognitive Hypnotherapy we do not believe that trance is something that a therapist ‘puts you into’ but rather a naturally occurring, everyday state that we all go in and out of every day – ever been so engrossed in an exciting book, movie or TV programme that everything else is blocked out but if anything came up that needed your urgent attention you would snap right out of it? – that is being in trance – a pleasurable experience and one in which you are in total control, no swinging watches and absolutely no clucking like a chicken!
About Me
In my ‘quest’ to become the best therapist I can possibly be, it was my great fortune to come across the Cognitive Hypnotherapy model created by Trevor Silvester and I decided to re-train and qualify in this excellent, ground-breaking (and to my mind far superior training and model of hypnotherapy) at the Quest Institute in London, which means I have achieved my goal of being able to offer what is, I believe, the very best hypnotherapy approach available today.
I have a particular interest in the mind/body connection in the area of healing, having overcome various health challenges and proven to myself the value of communicating with the subconscious mind via hypnosis in helping to overcome such challenges. I would stress that hypnotherapy is a ‘complementary’ therapy and advice from a qualified medical practitioner should always be taken in the first instance.
Stress has a major role to play in creating and maintaining some less than optimal health conditions and alleviating that stress by means such as hypnosis and self-hypnosis goes a long way towards lessening the undesirable side effects of that stress, allowing your body to get on with its natural day to day work of self healing.
How can Cognitive Hypnotherapy help me?

What to expect
It will generally take from between 2 to 6 sessions with each session lasting from one to one and a half hours to achieve the changes you want to make, although this is not a hard and fast estimate as we go at your own pace and whilst I have no magic wand, there is no doubt that this therapy can be truly miraculous due to its multi-faceted, holistic approach.
Because we will be working together as a team to find those unique solutions that will achieve the changes you want to make, you will always be in control.
