What can sports massage do for you?
The aims of sports massage are to stretch, relax and improve circulation to tired, painful, overworked muscles, whether this is from sport or general day to day life.
Unlike other forms of massage like swedish or hollistic, sports massage focuses on targeting specific muscle groups or areas that are sore or overworked. These pains are individual to every person and therefore the treatmeant is tailored to every different persons needs. No two massages are the same.
Whether you're an international athlete, keen sportsperson or simply have a stressful lifestyle, sports massage can benefit you. Below is a list of symptoms that sports massage can help:
* Headaches
* Back, neck and shoulder tension
* Stress and tiredness
* Sore, overworked and aching muscles
* Pain when participating in sport
* Injuries from overuse such as tendinosis, Tennis elbow, Runners knee etc
* Scar tissue from trauma or previous injury
How can sports massage enhance my performance?
* Promote recovery and prevents injury
* Promotes healing in order to speed up return to pain free exercise
* Restores flexibility and mobility

From a young age I have always been a keen sportswoman. I have been involved with and ridden horses all of my life and was a competitive Event and Dressage rider all through my teens. I have worked with horses and alongside International riders so have a vast understanding of not only the sport but also the stresses and strains that it can put on the body.
I was also selected to be part of the World Class Start and Development squad for rowing, which was a fantastic opportunity to train with some world class coaches. All of this has lead me towards a particular interest in core stability, functional rehabilitation and injury prevention and management.
When not working and studying I enjoy horse riding, pilates, running and road cycling (albeit predominantly in the summer months!)
I currently see clients at my home in a fantastic purpose built treatment room separate from the house, but can also offer follow up home visits if required depending on distance.
