After 5 years working within various therapy centres, I decided to take the plunge into working from home. Doing this has enabled me to have greater freedom and flexibility for myself and my clients. I hope that I have created a peaceful and relaxing environment for clients to enjoy their much needed time out.
I became passionate about complementary therapies after recieving regular treatments myself to improve general health and reduce stress. Seven years on I am still an avid believer in the key role that they can play as part of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
I now focus on various forms of massage in my practice and hope to continue my training in these and other forms of therapy in the future.
All that is left for me to say is a big 'thank you' for taking the time to look at my website. I hope to be seeing you soon.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy Massage is a firm but also gentle, nurturing and relaxing massage which takes the special needs of the mother-to-be into consideration. It is an excellent and holistic way to treat many of the common discomforts experienced throughout pregnancy and in the post-natal period.
After the baby has been born post-natal massage continues to support the mother and ease tension. Once the mother has started breast feeding and carrying the baby her body will ache in a different way in comparison to the pregnancy cycle. Aches can occur in the back, neck, shoulders and arms. Massage helps to release these new tension areas and gives the mother some time to herself to relax and restore her energy.
Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage is deep tissue massage that efficiently treats injuries. It removes blockages and damaged cells, speeding up recovery and encouraging complete healing. Regular massage ensures that unnoticeably small injuries are treated before they reduce performance. It effectively removes scar tissue remaining after old injuries, reducing repeat injuries. Lack of blood supply to the spine is a significant cause of long-term back pain. Lack of movement and incorrect use of muscles reduces oxygen supply, resulting in pain. Remedial Massage increases blood supply to soft tissue. Following a recent injury, improvement or complete recovery is seen after 1-3 sessions. It is especially effective for reducing pain.
Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage massage is a therapeutic massage treatment that uses very light pressure and long, gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase lymphatic flow and get rid of toxins in your body.
Because lymph is so key to keeping your immune system working properly, improving its flow and drainage around the body is good for you in lots of ways. Lymphatic drainage massage can have a powerful effect on your general health
Therapeutic Massage
The treatment takes place on a massage couch where the client is undressed but covered with towels. The hour-long treatment comprises massage of the back, legs, arms, abdomen, face, neck and shoulders. A half-hour treatment would usually involve work on the back, neck and shoulders.
The effects of the treatment can be felt immediately in terms of relaxation and stress reduction, and will continue to enhance the client's wellbeing cumulatively with further treatments.
Therapeutic massage uses oils to reduce friction, and to assist with conditioning the skin and muscles.
