Treatments
Swedish Massage
Swedish body massage uses original massage techniques first developed in Sweden. The treatment uses movements such as effleurage and petrissage to stimulate the skin and help improve circulation whilst relaxing both mind and body.
A full body treatment lasts for approx 1 hour and includes massage of the legs, arms, upper chest, back neck and shoulders. Alternatively you can opt for a shorter, 30 min back, neck and shoulder massage.
Sports Massage
Jo has attended a number of sporting events where she has provided both pre and post sports massage treatments, some of which include:
London Marathon, Gloucester Masters Swim Gala, Brockworth Triathlon, Bath Half Marathon and Gloucester 20 Road Mile race. She has also attended Old Patisians Rugby and Football club where she has provided sports massage therapy on training nights.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a natural, holistic therapy based on the theory that certain points on the feet and hands correspond to organs, systems and structures within the body. By using special pressure techniques to stimulate the feet and hands, energy imbalances can be effectively treated to restore balance and bring about a feeling of calmness and composure.
The origins of reflexology can be dated as far back as ancient Egypt when inscriptions found on the walls of tombs showed a form of hand and foot therapy being given to individuals.
As a natural therapy Reflexology uses only the technique of human touch and interaction to bring about its results. The techniques used seek to work with the body to naturally heal imbalances from within.
As a holistic therapist Jo truly believes that in order to provide an effective treatment a persons mind, emotions, body and spirit must be treated as a whole as each interacts and influences the other. It is not until you begin to study the theories behind Reflexology and the actual therapy itself that you start to fully appreciate the complexity of the human body and the vital role our feet can play in helping us as individuals maintain a state of positive health and wellbeing.
