About Jon
A wide range of life experience has led Jon to his work as a therapist.
Qualified as a psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, masseur and Reiki Practitioner, it is what life has taught him that enables the most success in his work
1980 Aged 18 : Left UK for 2 years travelling Europe & Israel
1983 Aged 20 : Flew to Bangkok via Pakistan where he spent 2 weeks with the Afghan resistance (against the Soviet Union)
Found work as a TEFL teacher in Bangkok
1984 Moved to Hong Kong and had own teaching practice :
For Xmas, travelled overland from Delhi to Harrogate - a truly inspirational journey
Feb 1985 : Returned Hong Kong and taught TEFL again
1986 : Tried his hand at journalism
covering the Philippine election between Marcos & Aquino
Made front page of The Hong Kong Standard & sold pictures to Reuters and an independent journalist.
1986 -88 : continued Teaching then worked as a jungle tour leader in North-West Thailand
Also played lead guitar in the rock band AK47
1989 : Returned via Canada to UK
The next few years worked as a bus driver, Police Officer and courier Manager.
1995 : Qualified and started working in therapy
1999 : Hit the road again! Lived in and drove trucks from Denmark round Europe, composing in the cab as he went .
2005 : Bought a beautiful home in Northern Sweden. Worked as a teacher and in a drug & alcohol rehab centre
2009 : Moved to the south of Sweden
Jan 2010 : Moved to the UK. Now establishing his practice here

Reikimassage
Reikimassage, in Jon's hands, is simply the physical methods of a Swedish Massage but with the added benefit of Reiki incorporated into the treatment.
Massage is a wonderful experience. Not only is it a beautiful way to relax, but as each area of the body is worked on, the blood supply is enhanced to the all the tissue cells of the area, enabling better supply of oxygen & nutrients. As this happens, the Lymphatic system is also stimulated, boosting the removal of toxins and lactic acid, leaving you not only relaxed but feeling refreshed and re-vitalised.
Counselling
It's a hard fact that life CAN at times throw us into some very distressing situations. Friends may help, of course. But without demeaning their efforts, their closeness to you may not enable them to be objective. As a counsellor, Jon provides you with a safe place where you need not fear explaining anything, where you will not be judged, or simply told to "pull yourself together".
Through the sessions, you will be assisted in finding your own strengths and abilities to deal with the situation you face.
Jon will not tell you what to do. He will, where possible, offer suggestions, but it's entirely up to you which of these you follow or leave.
What is Reiki ?

Reiki is the name given to a system of natural healing which evolved in Japan from the experience and dedication of Dr Mikao Usui (d. 1926). Fired by a burning question, Dr Usui was inspired to develop this healing system from ancient teachings after many years of study, research and meditation. He spent the rest of his life practising and teaching Reiki. Today Reiki continues to be taught by Reiki Masters who have trained in the tradition passed down from Master to student.
There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give a Reiki treatment, the only prerequisite is the desire to be healed.

For those of you further away and unable to visit in person I am pleased to offer an online counselling service which at present works via e-mail.
Not one word of what you tell me will be re-published except by your express permission. If you would like to help others by sharing your experience, you can give me permission to publish our session here. Names will of course be changed to protect your identity.
This service is paid for via paypal. A guide price is £7 per session but you donate what you can afford, which can be lower or higher. Please refer to the Prices page
