SERVICES
Welcome to Karunavapi Holistic Massage Therapy
Massage is something we do instinctively for each other.
When someone is hurt we may rub a shoulder or hold their hand. I focus on this instinctive approach to touch; using my felt-sense to guide me towards the healing needs of body, heart & mind.
I then respond to the unique needs of each client. This may be a need for relaxation, invigoration, calm, comfort, support or to treat oneself or a friend.
I use sensitive & soothing touch that can be experienced in a very powerful & therapeutic way.
Massage gives time & space to re-connect with our body, mind & emotions. In this way we can gain clarity & develop positive emotion.
I encourage relaxation & stress release during treatment & facilitate the whole being learning to relax & release stress at all times.
By working in harmony with the physical & emotional body, I encourage the release & prevention of physical and/or emotional pain.

About Karunavapi - a lake of compassion
I qualified as a massage therapist in 1997 (ITEC) & in Counselling & Guidance in 1996. I worked in a retreat centre in Wales for four years & a Clinic in Long Ashton, Bristol, for three years.
My Massage Diploma, with the Bristol School of Massage, focused on the holistic & therapeutic approach to well-being; thus treating the whole person, not solely a presenting ‘issue’.
I am a member of the International Council of Holistic Therapists (ICHT) and the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
I learnt to meditate and follow the Buddhist path at Bristol Buddhist Centre in 1994. I was Ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order (who run Bristol Buddhist Centre and the Healing Rooms) in 2008 & given the name Karunavapi, which means ‘She who is a Lake of Compassion’. I now teach meditation and Buddhism at Bristol Buddhist Centre and on retreats.
I am passionate about offering my skills and experience in Massage, Meditation and Relaxation. I work intuitively and apply my skills and experience to each client according to their needs at that time. I focus on deep relaxation and encouraging the body, mind and heart to learn how to be aware and relax more deeply in any moment.
I use aromatherapy oils blended according to your requirements.
