About Me
Kristine Walker BA ATC CThA
I completed my training as a reflexologist in 1989 at the Wilbury School of Natural Medicine in Hove. Sussex, later rejoining as a Junior Tutor. I was encouraged by Senior Tutor, Jane Vukovíc, who was taught by Doreen Bayly, to research and teach Hand Reflexology, little used in the UK at the time! After a presentation for the Association of Reflexologists in 1992 I began to hold regular workshops visiting Ireland and Holland as well as many venues and schools in England. 1992 TO 1995 I was the Research Co-ordinator and a Council Member of the Association of Reflexologists and a Full Member until 2009, and Research Co-ordinator for the International Council of Reflexologists
In 1995 I took over the Wilbury School reflexology course and set up my own school - The Kristine Walker School of Reflexology in Brighton, Lewes and Worthing, an Association of Reflexologists accredited school, and enjoyed 5 years training and developing students to practitioner level. In 2000 I relinquished my accreditation to concentrate my teaching on recently qualified students and providing updates and refreshers for more experienced reflexology practitioners
For the last 12 years I have been studying the original teachings of Dr. William Fitzgerald in Zone Therapy, also Taiwanese and Vietnamese Reflexology. Prior to this I attended workshops or I have been involved in teaching modern developments such as VRT, ART, Maternity Reflexology, Gentle Birth Method, Precision Reflexology and Linking and use many of these methods in my treatment sessions
I have trained and worked in the following additional areas: RI Nutrition and Health (hons), Allergy Therapy, Reiki and Karuna, Feng Shui, Colour Therapy, Bach Flower Remedies, RSA Assessor and Verifier and Holistic Interior Design
I now specialise in reflexology , treating and teaching from my home in Brighton and continuing to travel to many locations in the South of England and beyond! I work on FEET, HANDS and FACES, where appropriate.
2008 brought an increased interest in Facial Reflexology and Facial Rejeuvenation with clients and practitioners, an exciting development and well overdue! In 2009 I pioneered Cranio Theta Reflex, releasing potential with head and facial reflexology!
My book "Hand Reflexology - a textbook for students" is in it's second edition and can be ordered through this website.( Dutch edition - Hand-Reflexologie, Altamira-Becht, ISBN 90 6963 460 0.French Edition - La Réflexologie de la Main, Dauphin, ISBN 2-7163-1257-5). I also design my own charts and visual aids to teaching
I am the chairman of Active LightWorks, a charity supplying low cost treatments to the NHS and local community.
