Nutritionist based in Paddington, London. MSc qualified.
ABOUT ME I have a passion for food and science, and nutrition fascinates me. An educational background in science and an MSc in Nutritional Medicine have allowed me to gain a deep understanding of the complexities of nutrition, including the biochemical processes involved with food, nutrients, lifestyle, drugs and body interactions.
My goal in the clinic is to help you optimise your health while minimising unwanted symptoms. Understanding your personal dietary needs and the effect foods have on your wellbeing will help you to make informed choices. Diet advice is always practical, realistic and tailored to fit in with your lifestyle. I concentrate on nutrition to nourish your body rather than restrictive diets.
In my practice I take a scientific approach at all times, applying the findings of cutting edge research when appropriate. I believe that diet should always come first, however with modern day foods often depleted in nutrients, I feel that good quality food supplements are of great benefit to health. Where possible, I will always recommend a natural approach to optimising health, however I also believe that contemporary medicine has an important role for some individuals, therefore I work along side medical professionals.

PERSONAL DIET ANALYSIS AND NUTRITIONAL REPORT
Have you ever considered that your diet may be effecting your wellbeing? Do you eat a fairly healthy diet but still feel run down or tired for no apparent reason? Perhaps you eat a low calorie diet but still find it impossible to lose weight? So many people consider their diet to be healthy, but so many individuals have imbalanced diets or nutritional deficiencies that can lead to energy lows, frequent illness or weight issues.
If you would like me to analyse your diet indepth, I can send you a questionnaire and diet diary form to fill out. Using this information I can calculate your consumption of calories, balance of fats, protein and carbohydrates and levels of nutrients you are getting from your food. Depending on your goals (i.e. to lose weight, gain muscle etc), I can compare your dietary information to the dietary requirements for your body type, weight and age, and give practical advice in helping you achieve your goals.
Your nutritional report will include a presentation of your current diet in graphs and charts to easily identify diet imbalances or nutritional deficiencies. If your diet is lacking in certain nutrients, a list of specific foods will be given that could be added to your diet to ensure that you are getting everything you need. Advice on calorie intake and balance of fats, protein and carbohydrates will also be given, tailored to your goals. I will also add personal comments to your nutritional report for an overall review of your diet and additional suggestions.
NUTRITION CONSULTATIONS
I offer one-to-one tailored nutritional advice in consultations carried out in a clinic setting. Prior to the consultation, a questionnaire will be sent to you to fill out and return, including a 3-day diet and lifestyle diary. Returning the completed questionnaire as soon as possible will allow me to research your individual needs more thoroughly.
During a consultation, I will go through your questionnaire, explain possible reasons for health problems you may have, discuss realistic health goals, and give detailed diet and lifestyle advice, cooking tips, and optional supplement and test recommendations. All information discussed during the consultation will be provided to you in a health improvement pack.
Initial consultations must be in person. In some cases, it may be possible for follow up consultations to be carried out over the phone or on skype if you find it difficult to travel to the clinic, although a face to face appointment is always preferable. Initial consultations last for 55 minutes. Follow up consultations last for 45 minutes.
DIAGNOSTIC TESTING
Diagnostic tests may be recommended during a consultation. Understanding your personal physiology can help to clarify why you may have unexplained symptoms, therefore tests significantly help to strengthen nutritional advice. Tests are particularly useful for those with long term unanswered health issues, or for those who want fast results.
Depending on the type of test performed, the sample may be urine, stool, saliva, hair or blood. Test results are usually obtained within 2 weeks, and the findings will be discussed during a follow up consultation.
The following tests are commonly used to gain a greater understanding of health issues. Several other tests are also available. Tests are optional and are not included in the consultation price.
