About Dr Lynley Otterburn
Lynley graduated in 1994 from RMIT in Melbourne, Australia. After practicing in several practices in Victoria and Brisbane she moved to England looking for adventure.
In August 2001, Lynley started work at Ashton Chiropractic Centre. Manchester. England definitely made an impact on her as she stayed there for seven years. During that time she met and married her husband Dave and started a family. In 2008, they returned to Dave's hometown of Norwich. Here Lynley briefly worked as an associate at Norwich Chiropractic Centre before taking over Lifestyle in August 2009.
Lynley loves helping people on their journey of health and seeing the impact adjustments have on people's lives. To that end, she certified in Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET) in 2006. NET is an intervention aimed at alleviating internal stressors that create barriers to health. Lynley also has a special interest in adjusting families, especially pregnant women and children, which has increased since having a son in 2007.
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a natural form of healthcare centred around the body's in-built healing abilities.
Chiropractic works to improve health by optimising the function of the spine and nervous system, which are central to all bodily functions.
Exercise and movement are essential to good health, and this includes proper movement of the spine.
When spinal joints are restricted and not moving correctly, the quality of the information sent along the spinal cord to and from the brain, is affected. This impacts on the body's systems and can be associated with many symptoms ranging from aches, pain and stiffness through to lowered energy levels, childhood colic and behavioural problems.
Chiropractic adjustments influence the function of the nervous system and as such, the positive effects from these adjustments can be very broad- ranging from symptom relief to an overall improvement of health and wellbeing.
