About Reiki
The Japanese word Reiki means "Universal life-force" and is an invisible presence in and around all of us.
When we are well and happy, this life-force is flowing easily through us and we can deal with everyday stresses and strains with comparative ease. When we are feeling under par though our energy fields become sluggish and blocked, depression and disease can creep in and it can become harder to deal with day to day demands on our time.....we then feel even more under par, less able to function to the best of our ability and a vicious circle can develop.
Reiki practitioners are trained to sense and disperse these blocks by accessing and channelling the Reiki energy and allowing it to flow freely to where it is needed most during a Reiki treatment.
These treatments are gentle, non-invasive and generally promote a sense of calm and well-being that lasts long after the treatment itself has ended. The Reiki energy goes to where it is drawn in order to remove energy blocks and allow the body to re-balance and regenerate itself safely and naturally.
You may feel hot or cold, experience a tingling sensation or visualise colours or images..... Alternatively you may think that you feel nothing at all. Reiki affects everyone differently but it always works for the higher good, and can never cause harm.
