My name is Amy, I'm a holistic and complementary therapist. You must be wondering what Lomilomi is? To clarify Lomilomi is not Chinese; it is Hawaiian for 'energy-shifting touch therapy', a sacred healing art. The whole concept is based on holistic healing, treating the person as a whole taking into consideration of their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual state.
The principles of Lomilomi sums up what I do, it's a lifelong process and I learn from each individual as much as they learn from me. Our discomforts or pains are merely symptoms of an imbalance which could be the result of phyisically abusing the body through an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, or too little sleep. Or the imbalance may be the result of mental, emotional, or spiritual need not being met. No aspect (mind, body, spirit, or emotions) of a person is overlooked when a holistic treatment is sought.

A little about me
y first encounter with complementary therapy was by coincidence back in 2004. At that time I was very sick and was on various medications that were not of great help to me and I spent my recovery time walking around like a zombie. One day, whilst waiting to see the doctor I came across a leaflet offering Reiki. I had no idea what it was at the time and because I have curious child-like nature, I'm open to learning new things so I picked up the phone and made an appointment. From then on I had regular Reiki treatments and started meditating. I did not understand Reiki at all (apart from being a universal energy) but it gave me a sense of peace. My life started to change on all level, more mental clarity, emotionally content and my health improved dramatically. On a spiritual level, Reiki gave me that push for transformation and opened my eyes (as well as my third eye) to the possibilities; I saw things I have never seen before and I began to explore. I wanted to learn about this energy and most of all I was learning about myself, who I am.
I started to follow my passion, my love of dance and helping people. In 2006 I found a course that combined these and I studied in Bristol for a year on the concepts of dance movement therapy at Dance Voice, Dance Movement Therapy Centre. I had the most amazing time there and made many wonderful friends who happened to be Reiki practitioner or Holistic therapists! I thought to myself, such a coincidence or is it synchronicity? After Dance Voice, everything else snowballed; I studied Reiki, I continue to find opportunities to dance, I became a Reiki practitioner, I studied and explore various complementary therapies which lead to where I am today. The learning will never stop!!
Main qualifications/training:
- City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Body Massage with Anatomy & Physiology (Distinction)
- Usui Reiki Ryoho, Level 3 Shinpiden Master/Teacher
- City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Complementary Therapies
Fully insured and a member of The Reiki Association (TRA), the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA) and the Foundation for Community Dance.
