Lydia has obtained a bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Diploma in Counselling and has undertaken voluntary work for many different charities. Lydia recieved the training and initiation in London at the Zen inspired My hotel bloomsbury and is currently working towards becoming a Reiki master.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing treatment that works holistically on the body, mind and spirit. The word "Reiki" is Japanese and is made up from two words "Rei" meaning "universal" and "Ki" meaning "Life Force". Reiki was established in the early 1900's by Mikao Usui a Japanese buddhist monk and renowned healer. The purpose of a Reiki treatment is to relieve Stress and Pain, promote Relaxation and to release emotional blockages. Today Reiki is offered in more than 65% of American hospitals as a means to accelerate the healing process and to alienate pain.
How does Reiki work?
Illnesses develop when we ignore our bodies needs, if we ignore the sign's they will only get worse. On a physical level, Reiki works to treat bones, ligaments, and iIlnesses. On a Mental/Emotional level, Reiki treats depression, bereavement, anxiety and stress. Reiki healing also works on a Spiritual level. Generally people tend to feel much less stressed, more energized and much more focused.
Reiki allows the start of a spiritual journey of self discovery and enlightenment. Clients usually feel the difference after the treatment,as Reiki starts a detoxifying process in the body helping to rid itself of the toxins we take in every day.The number of treatments required varies with individual circumstances. One Reiki treatment can be very theraputic, but you may need several treatments if long term changes are to be made.
The simple, practical application of Reiki makes it very appealing to many people who struggle to cope with the hectic, stressful lifestyles of the modern world. Reiki works in conjunction with all other medical and therapeutic techniques to aid well being and bring about relaxation . A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you .
For years Reiki, along with other holistic therapies had been discounted from mainstream scientists, medical organisations and practioners. The notion that an invisible energy could heal was considered to be nonsense. However evidence based research Is accesible to the scientific, medical and holistic communities to suggest the existence of this life energy.
