About Sonja Macura
Sonja Macura is a fully qualified nutritional therapist, iridologist, colon hydrotherapist and homotoxicologist (modern homeopathy) and authorised prescriber of complex homeopathic remedies.
Sonja was trained in nutritional therapy by the eminent biochemist, Dr.Lawrence Plaskett, she initially practiced in London and since 2001 runs her clinic from West Yorkshire.
Therapies
Nutritional Therapy & Naturopathy
Sonja is an experienced nutritional therapist with a naturopathic philosophy. She qualified in 1994 and initially practised in London. She has been practicing in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire since 2001 supporting people who wish to improve their health, increase energy levels and help prevent disease.
She has seen hundreds of people for individual consultations over the years and has vast knowledge and experience in nutrition and naturopathy. Her special areas of interest are the digestive system, the endocrine system (male and female hormones), stress, and the immune system. All systems and organs are closely linked and taken into consideration.

Iridology
Iridology is the diagnosis of the body through the iris of the eye. This differs from eye diagnosis which is the diagnosis of disease affecting the eye.
In iridology the iris, or coloured part of the eye, reveals information relating to the organs and systems of the body. The transmission of information from areas in the body is transferred via the nervous system to the iris. 60,000 nerve endings make up each iris.
Sonja takes note of signs, shapes, and pigmentation in the iris, which she translates for a naturopathic assessment. Both irises are examined because each iris may reveal different information.

Colon Hydrotherapy
Colon Hydrotherapy is the gentle cleansing and removal of waste from the Colon.
It is a pain free process where water is introduced into the colon and the abdominal area is gently massaged to stimulate the removal of waste.
All of the equipment we use on clients during a Colon Hydrotherapy session is disposable and our hydrotherapy suite is audited annually and approved by ARCH to ensure that correct hygiene protocols are followed.

Homotoxicology
Homotoxicology is 21st century medicine.
“Homo” meaning man,
“Toxico” derived from toxin or poison
“Logy” derived from the Greek word Logos meaning study
Homotoxicology is the study of the influence of toxic substances on humans. The associated treatment is Homeotherapeutics also known as Complex Homeopathy and Modern Homeopathy.
Developed and introduced by the German doctor Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg in the 1950’s it is a different way of approaching a patient and his disease.
Not wishing to use toxic medicines to treat patients Dr Reckeweg managed to bridge the gap between conventional and complementary medicine by combining homeopathic remedies made from herbs, plants, flowers and minerals with tiny molecules of original substances making it a “gentle medicine” that helps to rebalance organs and systems.

At The Macura Clinic we offer detoxifying programmes. Our 21st century detoxification is safe and efficient meeting the needs of the individual. Diet, supplements, homotoxicology and colon hydrotherapy, which are all available at
the clinic, can be combined to bring about a feeling of wellbeing.
The detoxification process addresses the liver, digestive, lymphatic and urinary systems with the therapeutic removal of toxins from the cell. Our detoxifying protocols can take 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months or longer depending on the individual.
Some people like to detoxify at each new season, others prefer to detoxify annually especially in Spring when the liver requires a cleanse.

Colon & Deep Organ Massage
Sonja Macura qualified with a diploma in Colon & Deep Organ Massage in 2013. Her decision to practice this treatment came from years of practising colon hydrotherapy and from seeing hundreds of nutritional and colonic clients with digestive system problems. Sonja offers these treatments as massage therapy and also assimilates colon massage into the hydrotherapy treatments.
