ABOUT ME:-
Andrea (Bayles) is a qualified Nutritional Therapist and Herbalist and a recent graduate of the Institute of Functional Medicine. She has a wealth of experience in many areas of health and wellbeing management. She qualified as a Naturopathic Herbalist in 2005 and continued her studies to achieve a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy in 2007 at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London.
Whilst carrying out her training, Andrea embarked upon her own ’life journey’ and began to realise the importance of healthy eating, healthy lifestyle and the impact of emotional health on wellbeing.
A personal family experience inspired Andrea to follow a career in helping others achieve optimal health and wellbeing and she enjoys the rewards she achieves from enabling clients to rediscover the feeling of being ‘well’ again and maintaining that health throughout life. Her son was born with a chromosomal abnormality; he suffered for many years with digestive problems, infections, and finally severe lymphoedema of the legs. After many years of to’ing and fro’ing to hospital consultant’s and getting nowhere, Andrea resorted to the advice of a Nutritionist and hasn’t looked back since. The advice given to her son changed his life, his behaviour and his health and this is when Andrea realised the importance of good nutrition and the impact it can have on the body and the body’s systems. This inspired her to find out more and become a Nutritionist herself. Her son is now 19 years of age and is a healthy, vibrant young man with no health issues and the lymphoedema is more or less resolved.
Her approach is one which looks to inspire and educate, to help people realise the importance of healthy eating and the impact and benefits of food and diet. Andrea looks at the root causes of illness and her programmes are designed to support the underlying imbalances within the body to restore these systems back to health and homeostasis. (~ to maintain equilibrium in the body’s cells, tissues and organs)
Andrea takes a practical and realistic approach to achieving client goals and works individually with each client and ensures that individual needs, family circumstances and lifestyle challenges are taken into account in order to achieve health goals and keep you on track. She provides motivational support, emotional support and can refer you to appropriate professionals for additional support should you require it and if it is in line with your goals.
Andrea is a member of BANT (British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy, www.BANT.org.uk) and the URHP (United Register of Herbal Practitioners,www.URHP.com) which ensures that she is trained, certified, licensed and insured to use nutritional therapy, herbal medicine and natural remedies as a therapeutic tool.
