Touch is a basic instinct. If we hurt ourselves, we rub it better! Massage goes one stage further. It specifically works on areas of stress, tension, pain and discomfort as well as relaxing & calming you.
Although I have various massage techniques they all involve using touch in a sensitive and totally respectful way. If you don't like something you only need say and I'll change my approach. Your emotional and mental state is taken into account, as well as your physical condition. Sometimes you cannot separate the physical from the emotional and massage can help to rebalance and harmonise all aspects of your life. massage. Massage is non invasive and can be used safely alongside conventional medicine. It has little, if any, side effects (other than making you feel calm, relaxed, and less anxious. Plus, it can help reduce any pain you may be experiencing!)
I have years of experience and specialise in 'deep tissue' Sports Massage. I also offer Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage and Hot Stone Massage, Pregnancy massage, Abdominal - sacral massage.
Pregnancy Massage
It is really important to look after yourself when you are expecting. Your body will go through an extraordinary amount of change and many women will experience problems such as fatigue, fluid retention, headaches and back pain. Massage is a wonderful way of helping to feel better without resorting to medication. Be assured that I have had specialist training in pregnancy massage.
I use a body cushion to enhance your comfort during treatments. Laying completely flat during a massage is extremely uncomfortable and can create more tension! The body cushion places your body into a better position and prevents spinal compression. For the pregnant or woman with a larger chest it has contoured areas that will enhance your comfort.
Abdominal Sacral Massage
Abdominal Sacral Massage addresses many complaints associated with the reproductive and digestive tracts. Treatment is carried out on the abdomen, lower back / sacrum and around the coccyx. It is a deep yet gentle treatment that encourages the organs within the abdomen to become realigned.
The ligaments and muscles will also be strengthened and tension released. A sense of looseness and increased mobility will be experienced. The massage focuses on breaking down scar tissue that is often present, helping to loosen hardened debris in the intestines, thus encouraging a healthier bowel.
The treatment has a powerful effect on the hormones of the body and some people may experience an emotional release which is completely normal.
Problems that can be addressed with this massage include bloating, constipation, painful periods, pain during intercourse, bladder issues, such as cystitis, fertility problems, PMS and headaches.
I regularly use Abdominal Sacral Massage in conjunction with fertility Acupuncture.
