Craniosacral Therapy.
Work- life stresses and strains lead to tension. Tension can cause restriction anywhere in the body leading us to feel tired, unwell or in pain or discomfort. Physical injury or emotional trauma can create or add to these restrictions. Craniosacral Therapy is a whole body light touch treatment that locates and works to release these restrictions assisting the body to relax and self-correct. Restriction or dysfunction may radiate out from or into the craniosacral system, this comprises of the bones, soft tissue and fluid that bathes and nurtures the brain and spinal cord.
During a CST treatment the rhythm and motion of the craniosacral system is evaluated using the hands as listening aids on various parts of the clothed body for example the feet, shoulders and bones of the cranium. Then very gentle and precise manual techniques are employed where ever relevant on the body. This may be around the head or the base of the spine, or elsewhere on the body as the symptoms one feels are not always the site of restriction. A Clients experience of treatment is highly individual but most report being relaxed during and energised after treatment.
Crystal & Mineral Therapy.
Our ancient history shows that crystals and minerals as old as the Earth herself have been widely sourced and prized for their vast array of applications. From early cave paintings in ground Red Ochre, Obsidian mirrors and blades to precious gemstones which adorn ceremonial armour and royal crowns. The healing properties of crystals have been utilised for millennia by Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, the list is endless and covers the whole planet.
During a healing session which lasts up to an hour, crystals are carefully selected and placed on or surrounding the body. Their energetic resonance interacts with that of the body to assist in release and rebalance. Throughout, the client remains fully clothed relaxing in peace and comfort. The experience of treatment is highly individual and different each time. Crystal healing may be used to effect a change potentially in any condition, chronic or acute or simply to assist the body to remain in balance and optimal health.
Nikky Harman.
In a previous life before marriage and children, Nikky worked as an RCVS Veterinary nurse training and qualifying in the West Country and moving to Sussex to work in practice. After 17 years the family headed westwards and settled in Cornwall with no idea what would happen next. Exploring complementary therapies for one of the horses Nikky’s curiosity with crystals was ignited back in 2006 which ultimately lead to her training with Cornwall School of Crystal Healing.
Nikky first experienced craniosacral therapy back in 1994 with her first daughter at the Children’s Osteopathic Centre in London. Both she and her husband were amazed when their baby slept all the way home in the car, a first! From then on they were all hooked. She is now a student with the Upledger Insitute studying and practicing craniosacral techniques. She is committed to her on-going training attending regular courses in the UK and Ireland with the Upledger Institute and The college of Body Science.
The Chesterfield Treatment Room.
The Chesterfield Treatment Room is situated at Nikky’s home, ‘Trefagus’ (House of the Beech trees). This lies nestled in the heart of the Tamar Valley with far reaching views that encompass both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. Set down a long driveway and surrounded by paddocks and beech trees the environment lends itself to rest and relaxation. The room is separate from the property with full facilities and there is ample parking and turning on arrival.

Appointments are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8.30am to 5pm.
Evening and weekend appointments may be accommodated so please ask and for clients unable to travel mobile treatments may be arranged.
Please call Nikky to discuss any aspect of the treatments and to arrange a mutually convenient appointment. Treatment sessions are per hour however the initial treatment will be longer as a full case history and discussion of your needs is required.
