WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR CONSULTATION
Following an initial enquiry a detailed nutrition- based questionnaire is sent out for completion and return.
On receipt, an appointment is made to meet, either at the client’s home or at the DOCTORnow Medical Practice in Beaconsfield.
The initial consultation lasts one to one and a half hours, and includes a detailed overview of current symptoms, medical and family history, diet and lifestyle factors.
A personalised nutritional programme, which may include dietary changes, specific supplements, lifestyle implications and the suggestion of further tests if necessary, is explained and recommended.
As part of this initial consultation, telephone support is provided and if a subsequent consultation is necessary to assess progress and make adjustments, this will be recommended.
All dealings are completely confidential.
CASE HISTORIES
This client, who had a history of upper abdominal discomfort, was medically diagnosed to be suffering from several gastric ulcers. She had acomplex history of musculo-skeletal problems
(which had necessitated the long term use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication), evidence of chronic irritable bowel syndrome, a persistent skin disorder (controlled by antibiotics) and symptoms of endocrine system dysfunction.
“My consultations were very helpful in linking my many symptoms, identifying the causes and then having nutritional supplements recommended to reduce or eliminate my discomfort. The suggestion of alternative food, drink and brands helped me manage my numerous symptoms. My consultations made me more aware of the facts about nutrition and supplements."
Susan, High Wycombe
Presenting with persistent gastro-intestinal concerns and general fatigue, this client had noticed a steady decline in energy levels and motivation. Following questionnaire analysis, discussion and laboratory testing, he commenced on a step-plan anti-candida regime.
"Though the recommended dietary regime was strict, I very soon experienced increased energy and started to reap the benefits, which gave me the incentive to persevere. I feel much better informed as a result of my nutrition consultation."
Paul, Marlow
This mother, who had gained weight steadily for two years following the birth of her second child, presented with low energy, a lack of motivation and a tendency towards depression and anxiety.
"I sought nutritional advice to help me make sense of the mixed messages out there and to establish an effective, tailor-made dietary programme that I could easily Incorporate into a busy daily schedule. I see now that my endless attempts at weight loss through extreme dieting had only succeeded In harming my general health. I now feel better informed and am well on the way to establishing a ‘diet for life’ which supports my health, keeps me ‘in control’ of my weight and, with a young family, gives me back my zest for life!”
