Counselling
Are you feeling overwhelmed or lost in response to life events?
It's easy to get stuck in a vicious cycle, feeling unsure of how to move on and doubting yourself. I'll help you rediscover your strengths and abilities and maybe recognise and develop new ones. I believe we can all develop the skills and confidence we need to move forward with our lives. However most of us need a helping hand from time to time and counselling can provide that.
Maybe you've been struggling with difficult feelings or thoughts. Or perhaps you've had a sudden change or loss. These are things that you can find hard to talk about with friends and family - especially if you're experiencing problems with your relationship. Whatever your issue you can bring it to our sessions and be listened to with respect and in confidence.
I provide a calm, welcoming, space away from the pressures of your everyday life. Giving you the opportunity to accept and come to terms with previous experiences and to plan for your future.
As a fully qualified Integrative counsellor I adapt how I work to suit your needs. I have worked with the NHS and local charities on both a long and short term basis.
I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical guidelines.
Supervision
I've successfully completed a certificate in Hawkins and Shohet's process model of supervision.
I provide a warm, non-judgmental working relationship to support and develop your counselling practice.
I welcome and value all the experience and skills you bring to your work as a practitioner.
In return, as an integrative practitioner I enjoy working collaboratively and creatively and will bring in elements of psychodynamic, person centred, TA, solution focussed and play therapies.
I have experience of supervising counsellors working with adults and children.
Careers Guidance
Careers guidance is the use of counselling skills applied to a careers focus.
This allows us to develop a clear picture of your skills, values, motivations and preferences in the world of work. Once we've gained this insight into your strengths and abilities we can then identify suitable potential careers and research what experience, qualifications and skills would be required. Together we can create a plan of action to help you to move forward.
I've many years experience of working to support adults age 16+ with their careers.
As with all my work, if you are interested please contact me via the webform. We can discuss your needs via phone, skype or face to face, to decide if it would be right for you.
Telephone and Skype
Sessions via telephone or Skype can provide a flexible alternative.
I've over ten years experience of successfully and sensitively supporting clients over the phone and via electronic platforms (email, webchat, forums).
To make the most of these sessions we will need to arrange a time when you can make yourself comfortable and free from interruptions.
As with my face to face service I offer a free half hour initial session. If you then wish to continue we would arrange for further sessions.
Fees
I offer a free 30 minute initial session to discuss your needs and find out how I work.
If you feel comfortable then we can arrange ongoing sessions.
We can work together for as long or as short a period as suits you.
If I'm unable to support your needs then we can also discuss other services that may be more suitable.
I work face to face, over the phone and via skype.
My fees are:
£30 per hour long session for counselling and careers guidance
Concessionary rates are available:- Students: £25
- Those in receipt of specific benefits (JSA and ESA): £20
- OAPs: £20
These concessionary rates are available for weekday sessions between 9am - 5pm only.
Please contact me via the webform if you would like to discuss this further.
I review my fees at the end of March each year.
I accept payments by cash, cheque or Nochex via my website (see the page on telephone counselling).
