Hello and welcome to A-Donna's Body Sculpt Personal Training! Based in Newtown abbey, Co.Antrim, A-Donna's Body Sculpt is run by Personal Trainers Donna McMullan and Matthew Black.

My name is Raymond McClelland, a 55 yr old doctor was inspired/ cajoled to try to complete a charity cycle from London to the French Alps in the company of a lot of fit young men. One of the main reasons I was able to do it was because of the care, attention and effort personal trainer Donna McMullan put into planning the problem of turning a 54 yr old somewhat overweight guy into a fit cyclist.
When I met Donna, she quickly established a rapport with me and set about determining my goals and also my problem areas as far as training was concerned.The main goal was obviously to be able to ride approximately 100 miles per day for 6 consecutive days.
Donna performed a very good initial assessment of my mobility and basic fitness levels. She was much clued into making the necessary adjustments to training especially as I had had major neck surgery, (caused by old rugby injuries).
I started training with Donna twice a week for a 4 month period prior to the cycle. Every training session was different, challenging and interesting.Donna realised that I enjoyed free movement rather than the gym machines and made balance and co-ordination the basis of the workouts.
I set Donna quite a task and she guided me through it tremendously well. To give you some idea of the fitness level she got me to, I would give one example: My arm was pretty poor. At my first assessment I could manage only 1 tricep dip of lifting my own body weight... pretty pathetic!
On my last session prior to the cycle I did 3 sets of 20 reps as only part of the session...AN ENORMOUS IMPROVEMENT AND I COMPLETED MY CYCLE!"

"For anyone looking for a personal trainer, either for the long haul or for a short duration, I highly recommend Donna. She has been training me for the last 5 months and, from someone who had done no exercise – the desk and me where best of friends - that’s saying something!
I have to say that I am pleased with myself in that I have completed my first 5K run with Donna’s help. I had to overcome a serious case of shin splints, and previously even walking up a slight slope would have had me in agony and stopping for breaks. Little did I think that I would be tackling the slope at Stormont Buildings during the Race for Life, with no pain whatsoever!
Donna has always got a smile on her face, an impish laugh and will send you home with a smile and a great workout designed specifically around you. My workout was revised as she realized what I could or, as more often than not, couldn’t do! Your health is a major factor with Donna and she can give recommendations on health lifestyles and diet if required as well.
For the female readers, I am now down 2 dress sizes and have been able to dig out some old clothes that haven’t seen light of day in years!
Highly recommended, don’t expect any workout to be easy – she pushed me to my limit – with better insight to what that limit was than me, I would have given in ages ago but not got where I am. Thats the difference between doing it yourself or having a personal trainer.

"I always preferred exercise classes as opposed to gym work, and even though I attend Pilates classes weekly and swim 2-3 times a week, I just wanted to get myself fitter, and more motivated. So I decided to try a personal trainer, but wasn`t sure how I chose the right trainer.
I chose Donna McMullan, and I knew from the start I had chosen well, because: 1.She seemed to listen to me and take me seriously.
2.Asked me what I wanted out of training with her.
3.Makes each session different and interesting.
4.We hit it off right away.
I never liked training at the gym as I always got bored and de-motivated, but Donna has shown me it doesn`t have to be like that if you have the right trainer, program and technique.
I have a slight weakness in my right shoulder and lower back and was always hesitant in using equipment in case it aggravated these weaknesses. But Donna has shown me techniques in using exercise equipment and performing exercises so that now I am lifting weights, and performing exercises I never thought I could do again. I now find that I am not bored in the slightest. Also in our training sessions Donna has introduced exercises and equipment that incorporate Pilates, in-keeping with the types of exercises that I already enjoy.
I have now been training with Donna for approximately 7 weeks, and to be honest I feel I am getting stronger, have more energy, more motivation than ever, and thoroughly enjoy the training.
Don`t get me wrong, it is hard work, but if you want results then that is what it takes. Donna works hard alongside, never taking her eye off the session, by showing each individual that we can all push ourselves that little bit further given the right motivation, training and commitment."
