SERVICES
Welcome to Penny Williams Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a system of healing that began in China and other Eastern countries over 2000 years ago. It is based on the principle that good health comes from a smooth and balanced flow of energy or Qi (pronounced chee) throughout the body. Acupuncturists use needles to tap into and influence this flow of energy, by stimulating the body’s own healing response and helping to restore its natural balance.
Who can benefit?
My BSc degree in Five Element constitutional acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) enables me to treat patients with a wide variety of conditions, both chronic and acute. Acupuncture treats the whole and, therefore, treats at a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Conditions acupuncture may help include, but are not limited to:
- Musculo-skeletal problems (bad back, sports injuries, repetitive strain, arthritis, sciatica, muscle tightness and tension, sore or achey joints, general aches and pains)
- Digestive symptoms (irregular bowels, frequency, irritable bowel, indigestion, bloating)
- Stress, anxiety and feeling low
- Menstrual problems (irregular periods, heavy or painful periods, scanty periods, PMT)
- Fertility problems (male and female)
- Pregnancy (morning sickness, feeling low, induction of labour)
- Menopausal symptoms
- Headaches and migraines
- High blood pressure and circulatory problems
- General tiredness and a feeling of not being well.
If you are unsure whether acupuncture could help you, then do get in touch and I'd be happy to discuss this with you.
QUALIFICATION DETAILS
I qualified as an acupuncturist in 2006, and have been practising at the Gaia Natural Therapy Centre in Cardiff since then. I have a BSc degree and licentiate in acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, a British Acupuncture Council accredited college. This training involved a comprehensive study of Chinese medicine from a traditional Chinese medicine and five element perspective, as well as an overview of Western medicine.
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council.
