Jon Edmondson holds BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science and BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, and began as a State Registered Chartered Physiotherapist within East Lancashire NHS Trust, working for 5 years at Burnley General Hospital and Pendle Community Hospital, whilst also building up an impressive portfolio of elite sportspeople, including Great Britain Handball squads, Rossendale Rugby Union Football Club, professional Australian and New Zealand cricketers and the English Institute of Sport. Jon has also provided locum physiotherapy support for private physiotherapy practices in the North West of England.
Alongside his NHS work, Jon also provided physiotherapy services at pitch-side and in the medical department for Burnley Football Club Centre of Excellence. He performed these duties for 5 years before being recruited to a position of Head Physiotherapist at Luton Town Football Club on completion of an MSc in Sport Injury.
Following the cancellation of the contract at Luton Town F.C., Jon returned to his native Lancashire, continuing to further develop his physiotherapy CV with a move to a management roll at CJM Physiotherapy Ltd. A member of ACPSM (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine) and AACP (Association of Acupuncturists in Chartered Physiotherapy), Jon provides high quality assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
In addition to physiotherapy and podiatry, Radiant also provide a full holistic therapy service.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture - the procedure of inserting and manipulating needles into various points on the body to relieve pain or for therapeutic purposes. Acupuncture has its greatest success and acceptance in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain. Typical conditions treated with acupuncture include whiplash, arthritic knee pain, lower back pain and migraines. Acupuncture is also used in the treatment of chronic pain and in weight loss and stopping smoking.
Reflexology
Reflexology - as complimentary therapy which involves applying pressure to the feet in order to stimulate reflex points which correspond to different parts of the body. It is one of the most powerful methods of inducing sleep relaxation.
Reflexology has been shown to treat: migraine, infertility, arthritis, insomnia, back pain, sports injury, digestive disorders, stress, stimulation of the immune system. Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body's natural energies.
Reiki
Reiki - Reiki comes from the Japanese word meaning 'universal life force' and has been used for thousands of years to help restore the body's natural energies. Unlike Western medicines, Reiki treats the whole person - body, emotion and mind, thus helping you feel better naturally. The most obvious benefits of Reiki are that it helps you to relax, it is proven to have an impact on many conditions, including asthma, back pain, PMT and most importantly it boosts the immune system which helps the body fight infection.
Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage - Indian head massage is the ultimate massage of the head, neck, shoulders and face and is a highly effective relaxation treatment. This treatment incorporates a deep kneading of the upper back, shoulder and neck muscles which is particularly beneficial to many office workers who use computers and suffer from aching shoulders and tight neck muscles.

CBT
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - CBT is a psychotherapeutic approach that aims to solve problems concerning dysfunctional emotions and behaviours through a systematic procedure. CBT is applied to many clinical and non-clinical conditions and has been successfully used as a treatment for many clinical disorders, personality conditions and behavioral problems. CBT is also used as a treatment modality for children who have experienced complex posttraumatic stress disorder and chronic maltreatment.
Sports Massage
Sports massage - Massage involves acting on and manipulating the body with pressure – structured, unstructured, stationary, or moving – tension, motion, or vibration, done manually or with mechanical aids. Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, or other connective tissue, as well as lymphatic vessels, or organs of the gastrointestinal system. Massage can e applied with the hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearm, and feet. Sports massage helps to prepare the body for physical activity.
