Ruths Clinic
Ruth has been a fully qualified ITEC reflexologist for nearly 10 years now.
Reflexology is a very relaxing and peaceful experience which I think everyone who gets the chance should try . It starts with a consultation which only takes a few minutes, then you can relax on the couch at whatever angle best suits you and then when your comfortable the treatment begins.
First the feet are refreshed with cleansing wipes and spirit, then a powder is applied to make the feet easier to work with without being too slippery, the treatment then takes about 40-50 minutes, working extra on areas of imbalance and then the final foot cream massage before leaving you to relax for a while.
Reflexology has been around since 2500 BC and was used by the Native Americans, the Chinese and Egyptians to name a few. It is a safe and non invasive therapy with numerous benefits.
The feet are a microcosm of the body, consistin of pressure points which when stimulated activate a cleansing and healing process in the corresponding organ, it helps the body to heal itself and work in perfect balance (homeostasis). Reflexology helps relaxation which is very important as 75% of all diseases are stress related. It also helps improve circulation and stimulate nerve supply and create a freer flow of blood and lymph supply to cells and tissues. So why not give your body a workout from the inside out and try it for yourself and see what you think.
Examples of a few of the benifits of reflexology are;
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Insomnia
- Panic attacks
- Headaches
- Constipaion
- During pregnancy and after
- Pain caused by Arthritis

But you dont have to be ill to feel the benefits, most top athletes and proffessionals use it to keep themselves in tip top condition and help prevent ailments before they can become a problem.
