We pride ourselves on being very approachable and offer counselling in a safe, relaxed, confidential and pleasant environment. We work with individuals from all walks of life who may be seeking support with difficult issues or looking for help in understanding what may be happening to them.
We are committed to the principle that counselling should be accessible for all who may need it.
About Samantha:
I am an Integrative-Relational Counsellor, which means I am not limited to one way of working. I have a broad, but thorough, range of theoretical knowledge which can be tailored to suit you, as an individual. We are all unique; therefore, difficult or challenging times can affect us all differently.
I believe early relationships have a major impact on the person that we are now, and can affect how we feel, think and behave. This is one of the reasons why I believe in supporting early relationships. I offer reduced rate counselling for women or men experiencing Post Natal Issues. If you would like further information on this service please contact me.
Counselling is about relationships: your relationships with friends, family, colleagues and yourself, and also your therapeutic relationship with your counsellor. I will work in partnership alongside you, supporting you to explore your difficulties and helping you to achieve your aims or goals.
Our counselling relationship will be non-judgemental, genuine, honest and open, which is also made safe by confidentiality. You will be listened to and respected. I will aim to understand your world as you experience it, see things from your perspective and work with you at a pace that is comfortable and safe for you. Through this shared journey comes understanding and insight, which I believe is the first step towards change or acceptance.
As an alternative to talking therapy, I can use creative exploration to meet the communication needs of each unique person.
If you feel counselling could be helpful for you, then the next step is to contact me for a consultation session.
This consultation is £20 and lasts around 60 minutes. It works as a two-way assessment, allowing you time to talk about your difficulties and what you would like to achieve from counselling, whilst also giving you chance to meet me and decide if you would like to continue working together.
There is no obligation to book any further sessions.
I believe the key to successful therapy is that client and counsellor are able to connect with each other. The relationship jointly developed between client and counsellor is at the heart of the counselling process and very important to the outcome of therapy therefore; I believe it is very important to find a counsellor with whom you feel comfortable and who you feel you can trust.
Following the consultation session, if you want to go ahead with counselling we will generally meet on a weekly basis for a 50 minute session. We can agree on a fixed number of sessions or have an open ended arrangement, subject to regular review.
My Fees are:
£35 per session daytime
£40 per session evening (after 5pm)
Weekend fees start from £50 per session.
If you feel counselling could help you but find the fee is a problem, please contact me as concessions may be available.
