Pilates is a series of slow controlled movements primarily to strengthen the core muscles that stabilise and support the spine, realign the body and correct postural problems. Pilates brings mind and body together, focusing on concentration, balance, precision and breathing. It is the safest way to exercise and is suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness.

Pilates Today

Joseph Pilates (creator of pilates) was very much ahead of his time with regard to biomechanics and body movement generally. The Pilates method is renowned for creating longer, leaner, stronger, more flexible bodies and is becoming more popular with the general public of all ages and fitness levels.

Pilates can be used in many different ways including rehabilitation and improving posture. The Pilates’ techniques improves posture which enables people to think about how to use their body effectively in everyday movements.



Your Pilates Instructor - Laura Jeffs


My aim is to teach fun and effective Matwork Pilates classes to all ages and abilities.
I am a fully qualified, fully insured Body Control trained Level 3 Pilates Teacher.
I am also trained in specialist back care and pre and postnatal Pilates.

I am a fully qualified, fully insured Level 3 Pilates Teacher. My aim is to teach fun and effective Matwork Pilates classes to all ages and abilities. I currently run classes in Watton at Stone, Hertford and teach regular private clients around Hertfordshire. I am also trained in specialist back care and pre and postnatal Pilates.

I was introduced to Pilates 10 years ago after suffering with a back problem which left me with postural problems and requiring the attention of regular physiotherapy.

On the recommendation of my Physiotherapist I started attending Pilates’ classes to help improve my posture and to strengthen my back. I was amazed with the results and since then have been hooked on Pilates. I decided to train a few years ago to become a Teacher as I wanted to pass on the benefits to others.
