The greatest wealth is health. ~Virgil
I am passionate and fascinated by Acupuncture and its potential to stimulate healing abilities within the body. Because of this interest I take great pride in fully committing myself to each and every patient that comes to me for treatment. I work in a gentle and flexible manner, each treatment is completely individualised. If a patient prefers a no-needle treatment, Acupressure can be used which offers similar benefits to Acupuncture but without the use of needles. Massage is often incorporated in the treatment to allow for the body to relax and take full advantage of the Acupuncture.
I also fully qualified in reflexology, aromatherapy, body massage and indian head massage, and offer these relaxing and health benefitting therapies too.
I am a full member of the British Acupuncture Council and so abide by their code of practice for clinical excellence. To find out more information please follow the link to http://acupuncture.org.uk/
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese therapy that has been used for centuries. It is based on the theory that everything needs to be in balance, including the body. To help maintain this balance fine needles are inserted into specific points along meridian lines throughout the body, and this helps to promote harmony and self-healing.
Moxabustion may also be used in a treatment, which involves burning a herb over a particluar point in order to stimulate and warm it. Cupping can also be incorporated within a treatment, and this uses suction to an area to build up the energy and stimulation, in order to promote the body's self healing capabilities.
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology uses points on the foot to encourage healing. Each area of the foot has a connection to a part of the body and through stimulating these points it is possible to have an effect on the entire body. It is a relaxing and enjoyable treatment that can offer great results.
What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is working with the healing properties of essential oils. Each oil has its own particular remedial effect and these oils are prescribed according to your needs and are normally applied through massage to the body. This therapy is deeply relaxing and nourishing.
What is Indian Head Massage?
Indian Head Massage is a rejuvenating yet utterly relaxing form of massage that is specifically on the shoulders, face and scalp. This stimulating massage can help with tension and stress build up, and offers a feeling of peace and tranquility.
If you have any queries about any of the therapies or myself, or wish to book an appointment please do not hesitate to contact me via the details provided above.
