A Bit About Me
My background is in Humanistic Psychology, Yoga Therapy, Remedial Massage and Homeopathy. I worked as a Stress Management Consultant within the NHS for over 20 years.
I am a fully qualified, insured homeopath and registered member of the Society of Homeopaths (RSHom) and a member of the UKAHPP.
I have been practising homeopathy since 2002 and as a humanistic practitioner since 1990.
I work in a beautiful rural location, which is easily accessible by car.
HOMEOPATHY
Homeopathy is a 200 year old system of medicine that works by stimulating the body's natural tendency to heal itself. It recognises that symptoms of ill-health are expressions of imbalance within the whole person - mind, body and emotions and that it is the patient who needs treating and not the disease.
Anyone can benefit from homeopathy and I can help with a wide range of conditions, including acute, recurrent, severe and long term health problems. Homeopathic remedies can be used alongside treatment from your doctor or provide a drug free alternative.
Babies and children respond particularly well to homeopathy. Regular treatment will strengthen your child's immune system and reduce the need for antibiotics and steroid medications. I also treat inherited tendencies to conditions such as eczema and asthma.
Homeopathy can be especially helpful in times of transition or change, such as puberty, menopause, divorce, the death of a loved one or pregnancy and childbirth.
I have over 14 years experience in clinical practice and specialise in the treatment of stress, anxiety, deep trauma and emotional issues, such as grief and depression and behavioural problems in children.
Over the years, I have been privileged to accompany many people on their healing journey: to watch children develop their strength and vitality and see adults reclaim their sense of health and wellbeing, gives me a deep sense of satisfaction and fulfilment in my work as a homeopath.
HUMANISTIC PRACTICE
Humanistic Practice embraces various aspects of Counselling, Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, Spiritual direction, Advocacy, Mentoring, Coaching and Supervision.
I provide a confidential, supportive and encouraging space where we can explore the issues that you bring.
A humanistic approach to self-exploration focuses on the individual person and their unique gifts, abilities and creative potential.
Our work together would be based around your needs and interests and the goals you want to achieve. We focus on your strengths, skills and the resources you need for self direction and empowerment.
I draw on a wide range of methods to enable you to use your mind, imagination and creativity in more constructive, proactive and life affirming ways.
The ultimate aim is to help you to develop a stronger, healthier more integrated sense of self.
HOMEOPATHY & HUMANISM: Complementary Approaches to Health and Wellbeing:
Homeopathy is a holistic form of medicine, which provides healing on all levels of our being: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Humanistic psychology also recognises the importance of respecting and working with the whole person.
Some people come to me for homeopathy and others come just for counselling: either to work with a specific problem, seek help with a deeper level of trauma or distress, or just because the time feels right for self exploration and enquiry.
Sometimes when appropriate, I combine the two disciplines to facilitate the healing process.
The experience for me and my patients is that a well prescribed homeopathic remedy can facilitate a profound shift in both psychological and physiological states. The meeting point between homeopathy and psychotherapeutic exploration provides a powerful catalyst for change.
TESTIMONIALS:
"Thank you so much for all you have done for our family. You have made such a difference to our lives from vaccination information to emotional support; I feel many of the directions we’ve gone in were guided by your excellent skill in prescribing remedies." AJ
"Since receiving treatment from Suzanna I have perceived a radical and positive change. I had previously been skeptical regarding homeopathy as a form of remedial treatment, but have found it very beneficial. I have always felt able to discuss and question various aspects of my condition and felt included in the choice of treatment. I have undoubtedly benefited from Suzanna’s depth of knowledge and expertise as well as her ability to create a relaxed environment. I continue to enjoy this ongoing support." P.H.M
"I first consulted Suzanna In 2006 during a stressful time. From the first consultation, I found her very easy to talk to and really felt she understood. Her treatments have made an amazing improvement in my life. I sing her praises to anyone who sits still long enough to listen and have recommended her to many friends and colleagues." S.H
"I have been taking my son Ben to see Suzanna for several years now, and only wish I knew the incredible benefits of homeopathy (and Suzanna) before this time. With great insight, she sees and treats Ben with kindness and understanding, not to mention great patience and humour!!
In early visits, Suzanna spoke of Bens ‘energy’ and I found it difficult to comment on this. I can see now, that this is because he previously had none – now he is positively bursting with it! Ben no longer suffers from the continuous rounds of ear infections, tummy upsets and unspecified problems that once seemed to rule our lives, and when he does show the first signs of illness, it doesn’t now drag him down as before.
He is more confident at school and home, will settle in the evenings and sleeps better at night. He gets less anxious, frustrated and emotional. It feels as if he has finally found himself. Suzanna’s treatment is gentle and realistic and fits easily into our lives. In fact it now fits easily into the lives of many of our family and friends! From knowing nothing of homeopathy and simply being desperate for some help for Ben, I would now recommend Suzanna’s treatment without hesitation." Suzanne Curtis
QUALIFICATION DETAILS I have a post graduate diploma in Humanistic Psychology from the University of Surrey, a Licenciate to Practise Homeopathy from the College of Homeopathic Education and a diploma in Theraputic Remedial Massage and Reflexology from the College of Holistic Medicine.
I am committed to my continuing professional development as a homeopath and humanistic practitioner, and the focus of my work continues to be the integration of homeopathy, humanistic philosophy and spirituality into my practise.
