Village Osteopaths is a multidisciplinary practice which treats people of all ages, from children through to adults and the elderly.
Village Osteopaths
We provide a high, professional standard of clinical care, adopting a holistic approach to your pain and discomfort, treating both the immediate complaint and underlying factors that may be maintaining your problem.
Babies and children
Cranial osteopathy may be used to treat anyone, in particular babies and children. After a traumatic birth, it may be used as a mode of treatment that can help to ease any birth strains which may have been experienced during the long and tortuous journey towards birth. Certain strains can later lead to the development of feeding difficulties, colic, headaches, ear infections, sinus and dental problems as well as potentially, behavioural and learning difficulties.

Pregnancy
Osteopathic treatment can help to ease some of the physical discomforts of pregnancy, prepare the mother for the demands to her body in labour, and to help with recovery after the birth. Due to the very nature of the way we change in posture when we carry a baby, the body has to use its muscles in an entirely different way. Osteopaths look at these changes and try to work with them to improve fluidity of movement and reduce the strain and feelings of stiffness.
Problems such as:
- Sacro-iliac joint pain;
- Sciatica and leg pain;
- Rib and thoracic spinal pain leading to breathlessness and difficulty in deep breathing;
- SPD (symphysis pubis dysfunction)  pain and/or discomfort at the front of the pelvis;
- Cranial osteopathy according to the needs and/or request of the patient.
If in any doubt as to what we can do for you, call us for a chat.
As you get older
Osteopathy can help greatly during this time; treatment can help to improve mobility, circulation and immune function, and reduce joint stiffness so that you can enjoy a full and active life in retirement. The treatment is usually gentle and aims to maintain health and reduce further injury. Dietary advice may also be given to maintain healthy bones and joints
