For physical, emotional, spiritual and mental well-being

Welcome to Wellbeing through sound
If you're looking for a way through something that's holding you back mentally, spiritually, physically or emotionally (of course, all these levels of our being are inter-related), and you live in or around where I practise in Stroud, Gloucestershire, you've come to the right place!
Sound Therapy is usually deeply relaxing, taking your brainwaves to the 'Theta' level, which enables your mind, your spirit, your body and emotions to come into a state of balance, harmony and health. Anxiety, depression, insomnia, tinnitus, IBS, ME, chronic pain and cancer are a few of the conditions that have been helped using sound.
Sound Therapy may also help prevent illness since the techniques used are able to detect subtle energetic imbalances that have yet to manifest as physical or other illnesses. Whether you come for a regular tune-up or relaxation session, or have a chronic long-term illness, sound could help you enjoy a better quality of life.
What is sound therapy?
In a nutshell it is a synergy of ancient knowledge, modern science and intuition, blended to produce an effective treatment for whatever ails you, whether it be in your mind, body, spirit or on an emotional level.
Your body is ... an orchestra! All the particles of energy that go to make you You, are vibrating and humming as they go about their business. If one instrument in your orchestra-body begins to play out of tune (from stress or for whatever reason), it will begin to affect the other players and soon a whole section of your orchestra will be out of harmony with the rest. Your energy around this out-of-tune part will be denser, less resonant and less free-flowing.
During a treatment gentle sounds are played to bring the ailing parts back into harmony. This is possible because soundwaves travel effortlessly through the body, giving a 'sonic massage' at a cellular level. (Our bodies are 70% water and water is an excellent cunductor of sound.) If your energy is dense in a certain area this will reflect in your 'chakras' (spinning energy centres). They can be entrained to flow more freely as they resonate in sympathy with appropriate sounds.
What happens during a treatment?
Treatments are conducted (fully clothed) on a therapy couch. After taking a full case history, a diagnosis is done with a bell, which picks up the vibrations from your chakras and so detects any dense energy.
All you need to do then is lie back, relax and enjoy the gentle sounds of Himalayan singing bowls, voice and crystal singing bowls. Sometimes tuning forks, didgeridoo, gongs and other instruments may be used as well. Your energy will then be grounded using percussion - rainstick, bells, shakers and perhaps a drum. As your energy has been adjusting and re-balancing, this can leave you feeling light-headed and not quite ‘with it’. Grounding will help to bring you back down to earth. After the main treatment, which could last up to 30 minutes, your body will be scanned again to check it is in balance. Balance may not happen straight away, depending on the density of your energy.
Am I 'in tune' for good now?
If you have been used to running out of tune for a while, chances are you will slip back into your old programming.
This could happen gradually over a few days or weeks, depending on a number of factors (eg diet, environment, work, relationships). Three treatments in short succession (once a week, if possible) are recommended. Treatments can then be spaced out to suit you. You will soon get to know when you have slipped out of tune. You will be given tips on how to work with your energy at home in between treatments, to keep yourself ‘topped up’.
