SERVICES
Welcome to Wendy Steele Craniosacral TherapyCraniosacral Therapy is natural, safe and effective.
It uses the light touch of the therapist to encourage the body to heal itself. Craniosacral Therapists pick up rhythmic movements throughout the body - this motion is so subtle that it is barely measurable, but a trained therapist can use it to facilitate a deep healing process.
Wendy Steele has been practising Craniosacral Therapy since 2003 in both Belfast and Holywood, Co Down. She finds this work extremely effective in empowering her clients towards self healing and enabling them to make a real difference to the quality of their life, no matter how great or small.
As an important part of her treatments Wendy teaches and encourages Breathing Work to facilitate self-healing and deepen connection with the experience of life. This encourages deeper awareness and appreciation of the joy of living.
About Wendy She works with adults, mothers and babies and is especially interested in working with young children suffering the effects of Autism.
Wendy is a Registered Craniosacral Therapist (RCST), registered with the Craniosacral Therapy Association and continues to actively participate in and learn from the research and development in holistic health.
From Northern Ireland, she previously worked as a Special Needs Teacher in both Belfast and London and is also a Reiki Master and Teacher.
Living in a small town on the shores of Belfast Lough, Wendy loves the Irish countryside, especially the wildness of the west of Ireland and to visit ancient, holy sites.
TreatmentsCraniosacral Therapy is a subtle and deep healing treatment which uses very light touch to encourage the body to heal itself.
It is an alternative therapy being used by people all over the world to improve and maintain their health.
Craniosacral therapy is based around the gentle and natural motion of the fluids which surround the brain and spine and which influence the whole body. It is a non invasive therapy: during a typical session there is no manipulation or massage.
During a craniosacral treatment, the client will usually lie (or sometimes sit) fully clothed on a treatment couch. The therapist makes very gentle contact by placing her hands lightly on the client's body and tuning in by 'listening' with her hands.
The first thing the client may feel is deep relaxation which will generally last throughout the treatment. With subsequent treatments this release of tension often lasts into daily life.
Craniosacral therapy is so gentle that it is suitable for babies, children and the elderly, as well as anyone with fragile and painful conditions. It is particularly well known for helping people with back pain, stress or emotional problems, headaches and migraines and birth trauma. But it is also very effective as a general therapy to help people to feel well and get back 'in balance'.
Sometimes the effects are not immediately noticeable but are experienced later in familiar surroundings.
Craniosacral therapy is intended to complement, not replace, the relationship you have with your medical practitioner. If you have or suspect you may have a health problem, please see your doctor. Never disregard medical advice or delay in seeking it because of anything you have read on the internet.
