Welcome to Yara Steel Counselling.
With so many different therapies on offer today, seeking a therapist that is right for you may feel a little daunting.
I hope the following pages will both explain a little about me and how I work and clarify for you whether you may like to work with me.
I am a Counsellor/Therapist with a private practice based in Kingston upon Thames. My aim is to offer you a non-judjemental space in which you can explore what has brought you to this stage in your life.
SERVICES
My belief is that all humans have the right and the capability to reach their potential.
Sometimes we get stuck, unable to see clearly, or we may need an empathic ear. There are many reasons, all unique because every individual is unique.
Throughout our work together, I will support you in exploring where you have been and where you are now, thus gaining a greater understanding of what makes you tick and why.
With a clearer awareness and understanding of our behaviour, we become more in control of our lives thereby more able to initiate wanted change.
My work is not to give you advice but to support you in developing your own resources so that you decide your path in life.
My work draws upon many different tools depending on what may suit you best, from simply talking to art work.
I have worked with people from different backgrounds and with a variety of issues which include:
Depression
Divorce and separation
Abuse (childhood, physical and verbal)
Bereavement
Self esteem
Loss of direction
Relationship difficulties
Eating disorders
Ethnic identity
Anxiety and panic
Stress within the work place
I offer both short term (8-12 weeks) and long term, depending on what you decide.
This is normally discussed in our initial consultation.
I abide by The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy code of ethics., have regular supervision and am fully insured.
Please visit my website where further information can be obtained.
Alternatively, I will be very happy to discuss any queries you have either by phone or email.
Taking the first step is often the hardest.
