Yogarise to open and grow

Leading such busy lives, we are often pulled in so many different directions that we feel unrooted and unhappy. Yoga can help restore our natural balance so that we can go with the flow.

I teach in a vinyasa style where we centre through body and breath awareness, work towards a peak pose and culminate in relaxation and breathing. This helps to warm-up all the muscle groups sequentially, so that you leave your mats feeling stretched, yet relaxed.

Private Classes

My 1-2-1 classes involve a detailed consultation with you so that I can understand your personal fitness level and tailor a plan with relevant content, focus and dynamic to suit.

Classes are scheduled to your personal timetable so that you can practise whenever it suits you. Having your own personal yoga instructor means that you get greater depth of practice with more attention to alignment, appropriate modifications and aids.

Group Classes

Improve your overall fitness and health in the company of others. Smaller class sizes mean that I can tailor to suit your needs with props provided for greater alignment and safer practice.

Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga

One in ten women suffer from depression either during pregnancy or post-partum. New research from Manchester university suggests that attending regular classes can curb fear and facilitate a happier you.

Pregnancy yoga classes combine gentle stretches with breathing/ relaxation techniques to help prepare you for birth and beyond. Classes are taught on a birthing ball as I believe it provides the best preparation for birth.

Postnatal yoga classes help to restore balance and rebuild strength and confidence so that you can truly enjoy time with baby. Gentle postures work to 'close up' the body and realign postural imbalance. Breathing techniques help to soothe, while relaxation provides quiet time for improved mental clarity. You can either bring your baby to my morning classes or leave baby with daddy for some 'me' time in the evening.

QUALIFICATION DETAILS
I trained with the BWY (British Wheel of Yoga), the national governing body of yoga in the UK. The 500-hour course focused on the principles of Hatha yoga including asana, pranayama, kriya, mudra, deep relaxation and meditation; the origins and historical background of Yoga and the principles of teaching. I have also completed the pregnancy and postnatal yoga modules through the BWY. I am fully insured and qualified in emergency first aid. I am a member of REPs (Registered Exercise Professional).
