Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that becomes present in early childhood and affects the way a person interacts and communicates with others and relates to his or her environment. For example, Asperger’s syndrome affects an individual’s ability to socialise and communicate with others. Symptoms of ASD include repetitive behaviours, obsessions, extreme reactions to sensory experiences, difficulties with speaking and poor eye contact.
