Cradle cap is a temporary condition that is common in infants. It is a form of scalp dermatitis that is completely harmless and non contagious. Infants with cradle cap may show symptoms of greasy, yellow, scaling patches on the scalp and a thick, scaly layer of dry and flaky skin covering the scalp. This condition can be treated with the application of natural oil to the scalp that is left over night which will help to remove flaking skin and scales, with brushing in the morning. Other forms of treatment involve medicated shampoo, herbal remedies, homeopathy or cortisone cream in severe cases.
