Huntington’s disease is the abnormal production of protein in the body which can cause a progressive mental deterioration and involuntary movements. It is a genetic disorder which in the early stages can cause mood swings, irritability, restlessness, depression, learning and memory difficulties and indecisiveness. In later stages of the disease, an individual will have concentration issues, trouble self feeding and swallowing. Treatment for Huntington’s includes speech therapy, exercise therapy, medication and nutritional therapy.
