Pressure sores, also commonly referred to as bedsores or decubitus ulcers form on areas of the skin which have been under a constant state of pressure, causing the area to become cut off from the normal blood supply. This can cause the area to cause the area to become damaged or to die. This is most common around the heels, hips, bottom of the spine, along the shoulder blades, side of knees, backs and back of the head. Relieving the pressure, directly treating the sore, hydrotherapy, muscle spasm relief, herbal therapies and surgery can be used to treat pressure sores.
