Scoliosis is a curve in the spine which runs sideways, causing a person to appear as if they are leaning to one side. The curve point is usually around the lower to mid back. Scoliosis can cause misalignment in either the hips or shoulders, it can cause the head to be un-centred on the body, leaning to one side, pain in the back limbs or abdomen. Scoliosis may require surgery, a neck brace, chiropractic, acupuncture or yoga as a treatment option.
