Shingles

Shingles is a virus which affects the nerve ends in the skin. The herpes zoster virus is identifiable by itching wounds and pain. Individuals may have a painful rash and areas of localised itching and pain. Antiviral medication, steroids, pain-relief medication, homeopathy, acupuncture, herbal therapies and lysine can all be prescribed for treatment of shingles.
