Septicaemia, also known as blood poisoning occurs when bacteria occur in the blood stream. Septicaemia requires immediate treatment, is a medical emergency and can result in intensive care hospitalization. Symptoms of septicaemia include loss of appetite, increased heart rate, quick breathing, agitation, fever, chills, extreme illness and coma. Finding and treating the cause of the Septicaemia will help clean out the bloodstream, often using antibiotics.
